Chrome is NOT a “Morally Incompatible Browser”!

Morally Incompatible Browser Detected - 5ubliminalToday, I was being my typical advanced-PHP-ignorant self and was looking up “Creating PHP Classes With Dynamic Parameters“. I naturally went to the first result and what did I get? Some crap about Google Chrome being a “Morally Incompatible Browser”!

Morally Incompatible Browser Detected - 5ubliminal

The page claims that Opera, Firefox, and IE are all morally compatible. It then has the nerve to say to “Please use a real browser”!

Why? Maybe because Google is so big already and is expanding to every market?

But why MSIE? That browser really sucks! Microsoft is also a huge comglomerate!

So how is it morally incompatible?

It’s kinda dumb to do this anyway on a blog because of the high market share of Google Chrome.

5ubliminal, please explain yourself.

I mean, really? That’s a neck.

Haha! It seems I’m not the only one who have noticed this shit. I’d also want to know what is 5ubliminal about on it. For me it looks like they are against more coherent, faster browsing experience and easier web site development. Such what chrome is providing.

I’d call microsoft and apple products morally incompatible. Google is about the only large software company that doesn’t humiliate customers or piss up people who want to write software. Only thing in google that bothers me is this cloud -thing. But as long as they provide sensible formats to retrieve data from the cloud to local filesystems, it’s all okay for me.

At the moment I were using chromium. (chromium is a linux -port of the chrome. It’s working really well by now and is incredibly FAST! Seems only getting faster while they work on it.)

Firefox.. I switched to cromium from it because it was slow as a slug. Though it has incredibly diverse collection of plugins that I like. I’d be still using it there weren’t chromium bringing faster browsing experience around.

The Apple dig was totally unnecessary. The insanity of calling any web browser “morally incompatible” aside, the only browser that deserves that title is Internet Explorer. Breaking the internet with a lack of standards support is indefensible. From a privacy, market share and ethical standpoint, Google is far closer than Apple.

Anyway, enough trashing companies. They’re all the same. They all do bad stuff. Google isn’t better than Apple. Apple isn’t better than Google. They all have their agenda, and they’re going to do everything they can to make it happen.

I agree with you as well. Chrome is fast on OS X, extensible, and my preferences are configured to respect my privacy — a perfectly fine browser choice. A plug-in that denies access to information based on the visitor’s software choice is much more “morally incompatible” with the web than Chrome. Furthermore, installing a plug-in that shows different content to search engine spiders than it does to some visitors is a dangerous gamble for a blogger to take with their site.
